Sebastian Ruthenberg made it look easy. A native of Hamburg, Germany, Ruthenberg disposed of Fintan Gavin in just three hands of heads-up to win the European Poker Tour Barcelona Open. It was the first EPT victory for Ruthenberg, who collected 1,361,000 euros for his performance. Coming into the event, his top showing at an EPT tournament was a third-place finish, but he did win a bracelet at the 2008 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. At the start of the final table, Ruthenberg had 1,204,000 chips, while Martin Nielsen had 1,229,000. David Kitai, the winner of Event 38 at the 2008 WSOP, finished third. Jason Mercier was sixth.
