Poker Gossip - Vu Gossip July 2009

It seems like the winner of EPT San Remo was backed way over 100 percent. The Dutch press (http://www.sportwereld.nl/poker/slotboom/3207433/Nederland_terug_op_de_kaart.html) quoted Rolf Slotboom as saying he has sources that gave him details about Constant Rijkenberg’s backers and percentages. On the Netherlands Pokernews forum (http://nl.pokernews.com/poker-forum/topic113758/), Dutch professionals published what they knew. According to details given by online pro Lex (RaSZi) Veldhuis, Constant sold around 137 percent of his action.
Barry Greenstein posted on 2+2 (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/ept-san-remo-winner-backing-scam-480609/) about an experience he had playing with Rijkenberg at the EPT Championship.
“He acted like I should know who he was, which a lot of young players do if they have appeared on television, so I assumed he had made a televised final table, and I played along.” In the post Barry describes Constant’s erratic play and behavior, which was also noticeable to the rest of his table. Greenstein wrote: “It looked like he was trying to go broke!”
